Bjarte Bogsnes Vice President, Performance Management Development Statoil, Norway
Bjarte has a long international career, both in Finance and HR and currently heads up Statoil’s Beyond Budgeting project. He is Chairman of the Beyond Budgeting Round Table in Europe (BBRT) and has just published the book “Implementing Beyond Budgeting - Unlocking the Performance Potential”. He writes about why traditional leadership and management practices no longer work in today’s competence organisations operating in a business environment more complex, dynamic and unpredictable than ever.
Lars Häggström Head of Group Human Resources Nordea, Sweden
Lars Häggström has been with Nordea since June 2008. His previous positions include Senior Vice President Group HR at Gambro, and senior HR-positions for the American pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly & Co in Sweden; in the US as HR Director for Lilly’s operations in South America and in the UK as head for Eli Lilly’s T&D-organisation in Europe. He has also worked as HR Director of Astra Zeneca Sweden. Areas of special interest include leadership and organisational development.
Silvia Merretz Head of Talent Management McDonald’s Germany
Silvia Merretz is Head of Talent Management McDonald’s Germany which at the same time is the lead of the Western Division (besides Germany 9 other central European countries) within the European structure of McDonald’s.
Her day to day responsibilities include the coordination of the succession planning process for the Western Division as well as the organisation of development programs on a German and Division base. Innovative development concepts in addition to personal development opportunities such as seminars, etc. also belong to her area of responsibility. Since she is supporting company employees and franchisees and their employees the number of her “clients” is around 2000 people.
Her story at McDonald’s already began in high school where she was a part time worker in one of the restaurants in her home town. After graduating from high school and coming back from a year of private studies in the U.S.A. Silvia attended the University of Bonn to study Sociology, Psychology and Business Administration. Then she went to the University of Bielefeld where she graduated in Sociology with specialization in Socialpsychology and Personal- and Organizational Development.
Silvia Merretz started working for McDonald’s Germany again in 1998 in the training department where she was responsible for the restaurant and operations mid-management development. From there she moved on in various development responsibilities before she started 5 years ago to build up the Human Resoures Talent Management department with a strong focus on a strategic personal development to become a well accepted business partner in order to support the company’s goals with the right people in the right place at the right time.

Gordana Landén has broad and sound experience of a wide range of HR issues in an international environment including creating, planning, execute and aligning HR strategies and processes to business strategies. Gordana has previous worked for Ericsson where she held a number of senior positions beginning in 1991.

Filip has held senior HR positions within manufacturing, telecom and transportation since the mid 90s. He has been responsible for the salary and incentive issues within AstraZeneca for many years, both in Sweden and globally, and he is also responsible for HR in Sweden. A common thread through the years has been the involvement and development of performance cultures and rewards to ensure linkages at both the local level and in an increasingly global environment.
Jenny Evelius HR Director EF Education First, UK
Jenny Evelius is currently the Senior Vice President Human Resources at EF Education First based in London, UK, a position she has held since January 2007. EF is the world’s largest private educational company with 29,000 employees, offices in over 50 countries and a total of over 400 schools and offices across the globe. Since it was founded in 1965, EF has grown at an exceptional speed of 20-25% per year. The culture is highly entrepreneurial, results driven, non hierarchical and extremely international - in the London office alone there are currently 27 nationalities.
Prior to joining EF, Jenny was responsible for Leadership development for Senior Management at the Electrolux group, based in Stockholm, a position she held for 4 years. Before that she was a consultant with Heidrick & Struggles, one of the world’s leading global executive search firms. There she was managing Executive Search assignments, mainly within the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and Pharmaceutical/MedTech sectors, working across functions but specializing in HR. During her time at Heidrick and Struggles, she also performed Non-Executive Director Searches on behalf of major Swedish listed companies
In 1993, Jenny graduated with a Masters Degree from the Stockholm School of Economics.

Cathrine Foss Stene was VP Communications & PA in SAS Norge 2004-2008, VP Strategic Leadership in the SAS Group 2002-2004, Head of the SAS Group’s leader-, organisation- and collaborator development 1999-2001, EVP of Manpower AS 1998-1999, GM of Bankpower AS 1993-1998 and Organisation secretary of Finansforbundet 1990-1993.
